İpek İpekçioğlu (born 1972, Munich), known professionally as “DJ Ipek”, is a German DJ, producer, and activist. She established her career in the early 1990s as a resident for the Gayhane nights at Berlin’s SO36 club. Her signature "Berliner Ethno-House" style blends techno with Middle Eastern, Kurdish, and Indian rhythms. İpekçioğlu gained recognition for compiling Beyond Istanbul: Underground Grooves of Turkey (2006) and Import Export a la Turka (2007). She performed at major international venues in New York, Mali, and Beijing, as well as the Berlinale. Beyond her musical work, she co-founded the activist groups Amuso and GLADT, focusing on migration and sexual orientation. Her discography also includes the 2018 single "Bir Çift Turna". In 2024, she was honored with the Soul of Stonewall Award for her lifetime of activism.
