Intrinsic, a metal band from Morro Bay, California, was formed in 1984 by guitarists Ron Crawford and Mike Mellinger. The group's debut album, Intrinsic, was released in 1987 on No Wimp Records, with vocalist Garret Graupner. Following the release, Intrinsic performed alongside notable acts such as Megadeth and Armored Saint. In 1988, David Wayne of Metal Church briefly joined the band before leaving to pursue a solo career. The band released their EP Distortion of Perspective in 1990 on Cheese Flag Records, featuring new vocalist Lee Dehmer and guitarist Garrett Craddock. Their second full-length album, Closure, was released in 1996 on Teichiku Records, with the lineup including Dehmer, Craddock, Mellinger, bassist Mike McClaughlin, and drummer Christopher Binns. Intrinsic disbanded later that year but reunited in 2006, releasing their third album Nails in 2015 on Divebomb Records.
