Abonos, a Serbian gothic metal band from Belgrade, was formed in 1999. The original lineup included Jakša Vlahović on guitar, his sister Marta Vlahović on vocals and keyboards, Marija Dokmanović on vocals and keyboards, Nikola Vrhovac on guitar, Vladimir Lalić on vocals and bass guitar, and Milan Janković on drums. In 2001, they recorded their first official demo featuring six songs, and in 2002, appeared on the various artists album Demo Express 202 with the song "Izlaz". Their debut self-titled album Abonos was released on December 6, 2004. The band underwent lineup changes in 2006 when Vrhovac, Lalić, and Vlahović left, replaced by Jovan Prokopić and Tomas Ljumović. In 2007, Abonos released the single "Urlik", accompanied by a book of poems titled Oka da ne ispustim dah, with lyrics written by Milan B. Popović and illustrations by Jakša Vlahović.
