Véronique Béliveau, born on January 24, 1955, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a Canadian singer, host, and actress. She began her music career at age 16 with her first recording under the name Véronique. In 1973, she started extensive vocal training with Laurette Bailly. Béliveau's breakthrough came with her debut album Prends-moi comme je suis in 1978 and subsequent releases like Véronique Béliveau (1980), which included the hit "Aimer". She gained significant popularity in the early 1980s, particularly with the album Transit (1983), featuring hits such as "Je suis fidèle" and "C'est un rêveur", earning her a Félix Award for Popular Album of the Year in 1984. Béliveau also ventured into English-language albums with Borderline (1987) and Véronique (1989). She participated in notable events like Expo 86's gala opening, performing "Tears Are Not Enough". In the early 1990s, she transitioned to radio hosting before retiring around 2000.
