Aaron Sachs, born July 4, 1923, in New York City, was an American jazz saxophonist, flutist, and clarinetist. He began playing saxophone at twelve and performed with swing bands led by Benny Goodman, Babe Russin, Red Norvo, and Van Alexander. In the 1950s, Sachs led his own band, recording for Dawn Records and touring with notable musicians. He was part of the Modern Jazz Society's A Concert of Contemporary Music in 1955. In the 1960s, he explored Latin jazz, collaborating with Machito and Tito Puente, and composing "El Mundo De Las Locas". His discography includes Clarinet and Co., We Brought Our Axes, and Jazzville, Vol. 3. Sachs passed away on June 5, 2014.
