British instrumental rock band Brontide, formed in 2008, comprising former members of I Was a Cub Scout, La Roux, Rolo Tomassi, and Dua Lipa's band. The group, named after the term for distant thunder rumbling, initially featured drummer William Bowerman, bass guitarist Nathan Fairweather, and guitarist Tim Hancock. Their first release was "Bob Munden" on the Holy Monsters EP in 2009. Brontide's debut album, Sans Souci, was released in 2011 to critical acclaim. Fairweather joined Rolo Tomassi in 2012 while remaining with Brontide and the band's second album, Artery, followed in 2014 receiving positive reviews from critics. Bowerman later joined Dua Lipa’s band, and Hancock began recording as Mirror Manor. Due to members' other commitments, Brontide announced their split in April 2017. In August 2024, the band reformed and released new material, including the single "Mineral".
