Samantha Newark (born June 27, 1967, in Wimbledon, London) is an English musician and actress. Newark initiated a professional music career at age seven in Africa, recording the single “Jimmy Jimbo”. After immigrating to the United States, Newark signed with International Creative Management and performed on the state fair circuit. In 1985, Newark was cast as the speaking voice of Jem and Jerrica Benton in the animated series Jem. Newark’s career included contributing vocals to soundtracks for the films Project A-ko, featuring the song “In Your Eyes”, and Crazy Six. Newark relocated to Nashville in 2007 and released the debut album Samantha Newark in 2008. Her discography also featured the albums Somethin' Good (2011) and Hologram (2017). Newark provided voices for video games such as Twisted Metal: Black and made a cameo appearance in the 2015 film Jem and the Holograms.
