Cuban singer, songwriter and producer Wampi, born Dasiel Mustelier Oruña, grew up in Havana studying saxophone for nine years and came out of the island’s new reparto movement before breaking into the urban scene in the early 2020s. After a run of early tracks, he gained regional attention in 2022 with a string of digitally released singles, including “Clímax”, “La Diferencia” with Ernesto Losa and Orlenis 22k, and the collaborative hit “Pornosotros” with Wow Popy, Fixty Ordara and Ja Rulay, later followed by the sequel “Por Ustedes (Pornosotros 2)”. That same year he issued the compilation-style album Wampi Hitz, collecting several of his emerging singles. In 2023 he expanded his profile with songs such as “Maleante” and “Maleante (Remix)” featuring Lenny Tavárez, plus high-rotation collaborations like “Facturando” with Yomil and El Micha, while performances in Cuba and his move to work part-time from Miami helped push his music beyond the island’s clubs and barrios. New releases, including “Tiempo” and other singles in 2024, kept him active ahead of a major-label deal, and in 2025 Wampi signed a global agreement with Virgin Music Group for his debut studio album El Rey de la Habana, released on October 3, 2025. The record gathered key singles such as “Veni”, “Chacha” with Los Van Van, “La Última” with Leoni Torres, “Talentosa” with Maffio, “Qué Bola” with Cimafunk and the viral reparto track “Rica y To’”, confirming him as one of the leading young voices in Cuban urban music.
