Manami Matsumae, born on December 25, 1964 in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese video game music composer. She began her career at Capcom, where she composed music for titles such as SonSon II, Dynasty Wars, and notably the original Mega Man series, including its iconic "Game Start" jingle. After leaving Capcom in 1991, Matsumae became an independent composer, contributing to various game soundtracks like Derby Stallion, Adventures of Lolo, and Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors. She collaborated with her husband, Kimitaka Matsumae, on projects such as Othello World and Jade Cocoon 2. In the 2010s, she returned to the Mega Man series through Inti Creates, arranging themes for Mega Man 10. She contributed to independent game titles such as Shovel Knight and Mighty No. 9, and released her first original solo album, Three Movements, in December 2017.
