Erik Hans-Ola Eriksson, also known as Hans-Ola Ericsson, born on July 19, 1958, in Stockholm, is a Swedish organist, composer, and professor. He studied church music at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Germany. Ericsson was appointed professor of organ performance at the Piteå School of Music in 1988. He received the prestigious Kranichsteiner Musikpreis in 1990 and was named a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 2000. From 2005, he served as artistic consultant for the Bodø International Organ Festival in Norway. Ericsson is known for his interpretations of contemporary organ literature, particularly the music of Olivier Messiaen. He has made numerous recordings, including a highly acclaimed complete recording of Messiaen's organ music. His discography includes Sheng (1986) with Helén Jahren, B. Hambraeus, J. Johansson, and R. Martinsson, and Bach's Orgelbüchlein (2012).
