Menace Beach, a five-piece indie rock band from Leeds, England, was formed in 2012 by core members Ryan Needham and Liza Violet. The band's initial lineup included Nestor Matthews, Matt Spalding, and Nick Chantler. Menace Beach released their debut EP Dream Out in 2012 on Desire Records. Their early singles included "Drop Outs/Tastes Like Medicine" (2013) and "Lowtalker" (2014). In January 2015, they released their debut album Ratworld under Memphis Industries. The band's lineup has included notable musicians such as MJ of Hookworms, Robert Lee of Pulled Apart By Horses, and Paul Draper of Mansun, who contributed backing vocals and guitar to their BBC Radio 6 Music session. Menace Beach have had coverage from prominent music publications, including NME and The Guardian. Their subsequent albums include Lemon Memory (2017) and Black Rainbow Sound (2018), both released under Memphis Industries, with contributions from Brix Smith on the latter.
