Tatane, an artist from Reunion Island also known by the nickname "Soldat", first came to prominence as a member of the group New Generation, where he distinguished himself with his frenzied rhythms and hard-hitting punchlines. He then embarked on a solo career, exploring various musical genres such as reggae, seggae, dancehall and afropop. In January 2024, Tatane released his new album Destin. This opus is characterized by a sometimes melancholy mood and a varied musical palette. Highlights include collaborations with artists such as Toulou, Wizdom and Marshall. Tatane has also worked closely with DJ Mimi, a relationship he describes as brotherly. He credits DJ Mimi with restoring his desire to sing during difficult times, strengthening their artistic partnership.
