Yannick Fabian Steffen, known as Fayan, is a German rapper and songwriter. He was born in Oberkirch in Baden-Württemberg in 1991. He grew up in a small town on the edge of the Black Forest. He developed an interest in music and hip-hop at an early age, inspired by the Wu-Tang Clan album The W at the age of nine. His first steps in the youth center included rap, breakdancing and graffiti. His stage name Fayan is a combination of his first names Yannick and Fabian. He attaches great importance to his crew VSIL ("From Shadow to Light"), which is his creative network. His career began in 2017 with the debut single "Indigo #1" and the EP Kleineralsdrei. This was followed shortly afterwards by the EP Solo Dolo (2019), which combines a deeply emotional sound with artful lyrics. After a short break, the rapper returned in April 2025 with the EP Für Dich Da and the single Willst du mit mir gehen? (July 2025, with Dalton). The single "Verliebt in mich" is released on August 29, 2025. Fayan is not only a musician, but also a very successful songwriter. He has written over 130 songs for Mero, Shirin David, 1986zig & AYLIVA, Jamule and Nina Chuba, among others.
