Huang Yen-lin, known professionally as A-Sun, was born on February 28, 1975, in Taiwan and began her career as a singer. She initially gained attention by performing at local pubs before achieving wider recognition with her performance of the closing song for the Taiwanese idol TV series Rosebush's Love. Her breakthrough came with the release of her debut album, 受了点伤 (Love Hurts), in 2003, which included a successful cover of "Ji Mo Zai Chang Ge" (originally titled "Moonlight Flower"). A-Sun followed up with another well-received album, 寂寞在唱歌 (For the Lonely...), in 2005. Her music was featured in several TV series, including The Rose, Chinese Paladin, and Justice Bao. In October 2008, A-Sun was diagnosed with breast cancer, which later spread to her lungs and liver. She passed away on April 6, 2009, at the age of 34.
