Pavel Yevgenyevich Smeyan, born on April 23, 1957, in Moscow, Russian Federation, was a singer and actor. He graduated from the Gnesins' State Institute of Music with a major in saxophone. His first songs were recorded on releases by the Rock Atelier band in 1981. Smeyan played in various philharmonics, worked in Rosconcert, and performed at the Lenkom Theatre. He dubbed roles and recorded songs for over 20 movies and animations, including Mary Poppins, Goodbye and Weather Is Good on Deribasovskaya. His notable works include singing in rock operas such as The Star, Death of Joaquin Murrieta, and Juno and Avos. Smeyan passed away on July 13, 2009.
