Francesc Burrull i Ill was born on October 18, 1934, in Barcelona, Spain. He studied at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Gran Teatro del Liceo de Barcelona under Pere Vallribera i Moliné and began his career performing with jazz groups like Latin Combo and Latin Quartet. Burrull collaborated with notable musicians such as Sidney Bechet, Bill Coleman, Chet Baker, Don Byas, and Jean-Luc Ponty. He contributed to the discographies of Tete Montoliu and Antonio Machín and worked with Nova Cançó artists including Guillermina Motta, Núria Feliu, Mercè Madolell, La Trinca, Pere Tàpias, Joan Baptista Humet, and La Voss del Trópico. Burrull directed Editorial Concèntric and received the "Gran Premio del disco catalán." He passed away on August 28, 2021, at the age of 86.
