Žalvarinis, a folk rock band from Vilnius, Lithuania, was formed in 2001 through a collaboration between Ugnėlakis and Kūlgrinda. Their debut album Ugnėlakis su Kūlgrinda was released in 2002. The band's lyrics are drawn from Lithuanian folklore and often feature traditional singing techniques like sutartinė. Žalvarinis' sound evolved from metal-influenced to progressive rock over albums such as Žalio vario (2005) and Folk n' Rock (2008). Notable tracks include "Ailiom susėdom", "Dijūta" and "Ožys". In 2016, they released the album Teka, followed by Einam Tolyn in 2018. Žalvarinis gained significant recognition when they were announced as competing artists for Eurovizija.LT, the Lithuanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, with the song "Gaudė vėjai". They qualified for the final after coming second in the second semi-final on January 20, 2024.
