Zachary Cale, born on November 12, 1978, in Louisiana, is an American songwriter and musician who resides in Brooklyn, New York. He began his music career with the release of his debut album Outlander Sessions (2005) on New World of Sound Records. That same year, he performed at an art installation entitled "Mutter" across Europe and the United States. He released the albums Walking Papers (2008) via All Hands Electric, and a full band rock album under the name Illuminations titled See-Saw (2008). His subsequent releases include Noise of Welcome (2011), Blue Rider (2013), Duskland (2015), False Spring (2020), and Skywriting (2022). He toured extensively across the US and Europe, sharing stages with notable artists such as Kurt Vile, Deer Tick, and Dan Bejar (Destroyer). He co-runs the independent record label All Hands Electric with Ryan Johnson and Alfra Martini.
