The Lives of Famous Men was an American rock band that formed in Portland, Oregon, in the fall of 2006, with each member hailing from Anchorage, Alaska. The band recorded their first EP, Rehearsal, in the spring of 2007, embarking on a national tour supporting Youinseries and National Product. They recorded their second EP, Modern Love, The Wooden Vehicle, with producer James Paul Wisner, and it was released in December 2007. In 2008, they toured extensively, including playing at the SXSW Music Festival and the MTVu Campus Invasion Festival. The band performed alongside acts like Wyclef Jean, Cobra Starship, and Motion City Soundtrack. In September 2009, the group was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after winning a contest, performing "You're Everyone I Know Right Now". In December 2009, the band released the song "Sunshine" as a digital single.
