Zolar X is an American glam rock and punk rock band from Los Angeles, California, that formed in 1973. The ensemble was founded by the vocalist and pianist Stephen Della Bosca, who adopted the persona Ygarr Ygarrist, and is famous for an alien-themed stage act and for inventing its own extraterrestrial language. They achieved early professional recognition as the house band at Rodney's English Disco and are described as the first glam rock band from Los Angeles. Their discography includes a 1974 two-song demo featuring the tracks “Space Age Love” and “Energize Me”, and the independently released studio recording Timeless (1982). Following a period of inactivity starting in 1981, the group reformed in 2005 with the members Ygarrist, Eon Flash, and Jett Starsystems. Their later work includes the compilation Zap! You're Zolarized (2007) and the studio recording X Marks the Spot (2007). In 2006, the ensemble received a lifetime achievement award at the first annual LARPY Awards.
