The case breaks in Kingston-upon-Hull, between cup of tea and pint of ale. The man's words are about that, among other things. They are soaked in whisky and the iodine steam of all the pubs on the Humber estuary. You don't get your guitar out for nothing: the folk there doesn't do you any favours, it's for real. Son of Hull as a sailor is of the harbours around the world, shaped by the US folk revival of the sixties and careful of a very particular American Dream, Prokop arrives.
