Coboy Junior is the name of the Indonesian pop group who were active from 2011 to 2017. The band released two albums, CJR (2013), and Lebih Baik (2015), and appeared in their own film, Coboy Junior: The Movie, at the height of their popularity in 2013. Created by manager Patrick Effendy in 2011, the group consisted of four boys: Aldi, Bastian, Iqbaal, and Rizky, who released their first single, "Kamu", that same year. The band made an appearance in the soap opera Hanya Kamu #2 (Only You #2) in 2013 before embarking on the CJR Generation Tour where they performed in over 30 Indonesian cities. Coboy Junior: The Movie was released in June 2013 and cost $300,000 to make. Directed by Anggy Umbara and costarring Astri Nurdin, Fay Nabila, Abimana Aryasatya, Nirina Zubir, and Dewi Sandra, the film was seen by over 150,000 people and grossed $19,364 in Indonesia and $5,875 worldwide. After Bastian eventually left the group in 2014, Coboy Junior was renamed CJR before releasing their second record, Lebih Baik, in 2015. A second film, CJR The Movie: Lawan Rasa Takutmu, was also released before the band eventually broke up in 2017.
