Charlie and the Bhoys, a Celtic-themed Irish folk band from Scotland, formed in 1989 in Barlanark, Glasgow. Their first concert took place at the Squirrel Bar in Gallowgate, Glasgow and branded themselves as Number 1 Glasgow Celtic Band in the World early on but later dropped this title. They have performed extensively, including 50 shows at the Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom. Notable albums include Live at Glasgow Barrowlands (1998), and The Greatest Celtic Album in the World Ever! (1999). In February 2015, they wrote a charity song for Celtic superfan Jay Beatty, which reached the top 100 of the UK iTunes charts. The band has also been involved in various charitable activities, including fundraising for cancer hospices and supporting families affected by tragedies.
