Sylvie N'Doumbé, known professionally as Norma Ray, was born on March 21, 1970, in Saint-Étienne, France. She is a singer-songwriter who began her musical journey at the age of ten, composing her first melodies on the guitar. After studying at the American School Of Music Modern in Paris and graduating in 1992, Ray started her career with the single "If It's Love" and contributed as a choriste to Julien Clerc’s Utile. In 1994, she voiced several songs for Walt Disney Pictures’ animated film The Lion King and released multiple singles including "Crazy About You" and "I Need Love". Ray continued her work with Disney, voicing characters in films like Hercules, Brother Bear, and The Princess and the Frog. In 1998, she transitioned to R&B and co-wrote "Tous Les Maux D'amour", which reached number 8 on the French charts in 1999. This success led to her debut album, Poussières d'étoiles, released in January the following year. The album included hits like "Emporte-Moi" and "Symphonie". In 2004, Ray formed the duo Angelux with Thomas Foyer, releasing a mini-album titled For Your Love. Throughout her career, Ray has also contributed to various films and television series, showcasing her versatility as an artist.
