Ozan Ata Canani, born in 1963 in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, is a Turkish-German musician known for his roles as singer and bağlama player. At age 12, he moved to Germany with his family and began performing at local events by the age of 14. His early compositions addressed themes such as the struggles of guest workers and racism, notably in his song "Deutsche Freunde", which he wrote at 15 years old. Canani's music blends Krautrock, pop, and traditional Anatolian sounds, often highlighting social issues. He gained recognition through collaborations with bands like Die Kanaken and later released his debut album Warte mein Land, warte in 2021. His second studio album, Die Demokratie, was released in 2025.
