Alberto Braida, born on April 1, 1966, in Italy, is a musician, pianist, and composer known for his contributions to jazz. He began playing the piano at age seven and studied at the Conservatory of Piacenza. Between 1989 and 1991, he attended jazz seminars in Siena. Braida's career took off with collaborations featuring musicians such as Alessandro Bosetti, Massimo Falascone, and Wolfgang Fuchs. In 1995, he formed an improvisation trio with Tito Mangialajo on bass and Carlo Virzi on drums. Regularly collaborating with Giancarlo Locatelli since 1996, Braida founded the Takla Improvising Group in 1997 and the label Takla Records in 1998. Notable works include Il viaggiatore insonne, composed with Locatelli and Fabio Martini, and Once It Was the Colour of Saying, inspired by Dylan Thomas's poetry. His discography includes albums such as Di terra (2006), Reg Erg (2007), Re:Start (2009), and In Love With the Moon (2019).
