Steve Guyger, born September 12, 1952 in Philadelphia, is an American harmonica player, singer, and songwriter. Initially studying guitar for five years before transitioning to harmonica, Guyger formed his own band in the late 1970s, which later became known as The Excellos. In 1980, he began backing Jimmy Rogers, a collaboration that lasted until Rogers' death in 1997. Guyger's debut album Last Train to Dover was released in 1997, followed by Past Life Blues in 1999 and Radio Blues in March 2008. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with notable artists such as Charlie Musselwhite, Little Sammy Davis, and Mark Hummel. In 2009, Guyger was nominated for a Blues Music Award and released an instructional DVD titled Blues Harmonica. He is proficient in both diatonic and chromatic harmonicas and endorses Hohner harmonicas.
