Weltrekorder, a German indie rock band from Cologne, was founded in 2007 by Ingo Ruttke. The group initially featured Ruttke on vocals, guitar, keyboards, and as the primary composer and lyricist. The lineup expanded to include Theo Weber on drums, Thomas Hesse on guitar, and Michael Schäfers on bass. Weltrekorder's breakthrough moment came in August 2010 when they set a world record for performing the most concerts within 12 hours and was recognized by Guinness World Records. Their debut album Weltrekorder was released in July 2010, along with the single "Sex mit Hanne". The band was signed to the independent label Handmade and their releases were distributed by Zebralution/8 O’Clock Records.
