A precocious Belgian drummer, Stéphane Galland took up his instrument at an early age, studying it at the Conservatoire de Huy before launching himself on the jazz scene. Co-founder of the group Nasa Sa, which became Aka Moon in 1992, the prodigy has banged his drums on some sixty albums, including those of his parallel group Greetings of Mercury, the Eric Legnini Trio and singer Axelle Red. Noticed by Joe Zawinul, who recruited him into his Syndicate in 2003, the drummer, seduced by jazz rock and Africa, continued his career with Aka Moon, working on his first solo album, Lobi, released in 2012.
