Soggy is a Reims-based metal band with a strong garage rock influence, formed in 1978 in the Cité des Sacres. Inspired mainly by The Stooges and Black Sabbath, the band established a regional reputation in the early 1980s, and in 1981 released their only single, "Waiting for the War" and "47 Chromosomes ". Having broken up in 1982, this band should logically have disappeared into the limbo of rock history, like many of its congeners. In the 1990s, however, the group's 45 rpm record became a cult hit, selling like hotcakes among collectors. In 2008, the Mémoire Neuve label released a vinyl album featuring previously unreleased tapes by the band. The five hundred copies of Soggy quickly sold out, and in 2012 the double album Slog was released, featuring other previously unreleased tracks and a live album. Covered in 2015 by Californian band The Shrine, "Waiting for the War" also featured that year in the credits of the Belgian film Je Suis Mort Mais j'Ai des Amis.
