Aka Moon, a Belgian fusion band, was formed in 1992 by Fabrizio Cassol, Michel Hatzigeorgiou, and Stéphane Galland. Their debut album Aka Moon that same year drew from the music of the Aka Pygmies. Early albums like Rebirth (1994), Akasha Vol. 1 (1995), and Akasha Vol. 2 (1996) blended jazz, rock, and world music. Notable collaborations include working with Marc Ducret on Ganesh (1997) and David Linx on Elohim (1997). The band's late-1990s trilogy—Invisible Mother (1999), Invisible Sun (2000), and Invisible Moon (2001)—incorporated diverse musical elements. Aka Moon also released albums such as Amazir (2006) featuring Magic Malik and Fabian Fiorini, and Culture Griot (2009) with Baba Sissoko. Their album The Scarlatti Book (2015) featured compositions by Cassol based on Domenico Scarlatti's sonatas.
