Rie Miyazawa (born April 6, 1973 in Tokyo) is a Japanese actor and singer who, after making her debut as a model at the age of 11, began her singing career in September 1989 with the single "Dream Rush" produced by Tetsuya Komuro. The following year, in 1990, her song "NO TITLIST" reached No. 1 on the Oricon charts, making her an overwhelmingly popular symbol of the times. An important milestone in her musical career was her third single "Game," released on October 1, 1990. A cover of David Bowie's "Fame," it was used as the theme song for the drama "Someday I'm Going Home in the Morning with Someone," in which she starred. It was also sung at the 41st Kohaku Uta Gassen (NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen) in the same year, and created a big sensation. Since the mid-1990s, she has concentrated on acting, making her acting debut in the 1988 film " Seven Day War, " for which she won the Japan Academy Prize for Best Newcomer at the age of 16. As an actor, she has appeared in films such as " Twilight Samurai " (2002) and " Pale Moon " (2014), for which she received numerous awards, including the Japan Academy Award for Best Leading Actress.
