Liah is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who began her professional journey at age twelve. Her breakthrough occurred in 2003 with the release of her debut single, "Garotas choram mais," followed by the chart-topping hit "Poesia e paixão." Her self-titled debut album arrived in 2004, selling over 350,000 copies and featuring the song "O amor é mais," which appeared on the Malhação soundtrack. She continued her recording career with the release of Perdas e ganhos (2005) and later signed with Som Livre to issue Livre (2008).
