Evelyn Mandac, born August 16, 1945, is an opera singer from the Philippines. She studied at the University of the Philippines before receiving scholarships to attend Oberlin College and The Juilliard School. Mandac's breakthrough came in 1966 when she won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, becoming the first Filipina to sing major roles at the Metropolitan Opera. She performed extensively worldwide, including notable roles such as Ines in L'Africaine with Placido Domingo and Shirley Verrett, and Liu in Turandot with Birgit Nilsson. Mandac's repertoire spans various roles, and she has collaborated with major orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra.
