Gina Schwarz, born on November 2, 1968, in Hollabrunn, Austria, is a bassist known for her contributions to jazz music. She began her musical journey with jazz bass training at the Vienna Conservatory and under Peter Herbert, earning a Master of Arts degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Schwarz has collaborated extensively with various artists and bands, including the Yta Moreno Quartett, Wiener Salsa, and the Robert Bachner Bigband. Her debut album Airbass was released in 2009, followed by Jazzista in 2013 and Fusão in 2022. Notable collaborations include work with George Garzone on In the Zone. She received the Berklee Best Award and won the Hans Koller Prize for "Side(wo)man of the Year" in 2007.
