The Copyrights, an American pop punk band from Carbondale, Illinois, was formed in 2002, composing of Adam Fletcher, Brett Hunter, Kevin Rotter, and Luke McNeill. The group released their first album, We Didn't Come Here to Die, in 2003. They gained traction with subsequent releases such as Mutiny Pop (2006) and Make Sound (2007), which garnered critical acclaim from outlets like Punknews.org. The band continued to release albums including Learn the Hard Way (2008), North Sentinel Island (2011), and Report (2014). They have toured extensively, performing at notable festivals such as Groezrock in 2012 and headlining events like Insubordination Fest. The Copyrights signed with Fat Wreck Chords in 2021 and released their seventh studio album, Alone in a Dome, that same year.
