Zort, an Argentine band formed in 1998, started with a blend of trip-hop and breakbeat. Their debut album Anillo Saturiano was released independently the same year. The band's sound evolved with Retornar de las Mareas (2001), incorporating world music, ambient, and acid jazz elements. Zort gained attention within the Argentine electronic dance music scene. Their breakthrough came with Más Poco (2003), featuring instrumental improvisation and free-form structures. The album led to their first European tour in 2003, performing at venues like Berlin's Sage Club and Hamburg's Golden Pudel Club. Tracks from this album were used in the soundtrack of Alejandro Cárdenas' film Auf Der Suche Nach... (2004). Zort continued to refine their sound with Foco Lejos (2005), which included songs based on live improvisations, followed by another European tour.
