Blazing Funk is the electronic music project of German producer Frank Dase. Before launching the project in 2007, he released two vinyl records under the names DeeFour (2004) and Align Left (2005).
The first official Blazing Funk release, “Hate & Jealousy”, was released in 2007 on the Chicago-based label Direct Drive Digital. In the years that followed, he produced numerous remixes for international artists, including several productions for US singer Fawni. Some of these remixes were later released on compilations through Warner Music Sweden.
Around 2011, Frank Dase stepped away from music production and remained inactive for more than a decade. After recovering from colorectal cancer, he returned to music in October 2024 and restarted the Blazing Funk project from scratch, beginning again with zero monthly listeners. Since then, he has released more than 20 new tracks and steadily built an audience of over 15,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Musically, Blazing Funk moves between House, French House, Nu-Disco, Progressive House, Tech House, and Dance Pop, often influenced by the melodic and synthesizer-driven sound of the 1980s.
His most recognized releases include reinterpretations of Bronski Beat’s “Hit That Perfect Beat” and Sylvester’s “You Make Me Feel”, both officially licensed by the respective publishers.
