Viktor Mikhailovich Lebedev (January 5, 1935 – March 11, 2021) was a Russian film score and classical composer from Leningrad. Lebedev graduated from the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and was a member of the Guild of Composers of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. In 1968, Lebedev composed the opera The Wizard of the Emerald City, based on Aleksandr Volkov's retelling of the L. Frank Baum novel. Lebedev authored the musical scores for 106 films. These works include the music for the films Heavenly Swallows, Be My Husband, and the series Gardes-Marines, Ahead!. In 2005, Lebedev received the title of People's Artist of Russia. Lebedev was also a recipient of the Order of Honour. Lebedev died in Saint Petersburg on March 11, 2021.
