Formed in 1993 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Cryptic Fate played an integral role in pioneering and popularizing the Bangladeshi heavy metal movement. The band's original lineup singer featured singer Iresh Zaker, guitarists K. Sarfaraz Latifullah and Waheduzzaman Khan, bassist Shakib Chowdhury, and drummer Farshed Mahmud. Zaker had left the group by the time Cryptic Fate's debut album, Ends Are Forever, arrived in 1995, with Chowdhury assuming the role of the band's frontman. In 2001, the group contributed the cricket anthem "Cholo Bangladesh" to Charpatra, a compilation album featuring various heavy metal acts from Bangladesh. "Cholo Bangladesh" became a commercial hit, remaining on the Bangladeshi charts for multiple months and earning Cryptic Fate a record deal with G-Series. শ্রেষ্ঠ (Greatness), followed in 2002, marking the band's first Bengali album and second full-length release overall. A third album, দানব (Giant), was released in 2006. Seven years later, the band retuned with 2013's নয় মাস (Nine Months), a concept record based upon the nine-month Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. The album marked the debut of Cryptic Fate's new drummer, Raef al Hasan Rafa. Nearly a decade elapsed before the band released a new single, "Bhoboghure 2022," which became a radio hit in both Bangladesh and Malaysia.
