Juju is one of the defining voices in German rap. Raised in Berlin-Neukölln, in a part of the city shaped more by pressure than privilege, she built her name on sharp writing, unmistakable attitude, and a versatility that moves between hard-hitting rap, melodic crossover moments, and pop appeal without ever losing its edge. Writing all of her lyrics herself, Juju stands for artistic independence as much as impact and has helped open the German mainstream to a new generation of female rap.
Born in Berlin in 1992 to a German mother and a Moroccan father, Juju started writing raps at 14 and first broke through as part of the duo SXTN. Their confrontational, feminist, and era-defining sound left a lasting mark on German rap and helped reshape the space for women in the genre. Juju launched her solo career with the 2019 album "Bling Bling", a commercial and critical success that established her as an artist far beyond one scene or moment. The album included "Vermissen" with Henning May, making Juju the first German female rapper to earn a Diamond-certified single.
With multiple number one singles, an MTV Europe Music Award for Best German Act, and a catalogue whose influence continues to resonate, Juju remains one of the genre’s most important artists. After a longer break, she is now entering a new chapter, with the same precision, range, and cultural impact that made her essential in the first place.
