Haliza Hanim Abd Halim, known professionally as Liza Hanim, was born on November 19, 1979, in Klang, Selangor. She began her career at age 15 by appearing in the Asia Bagus competition (1994). Her breakthrough came after participating in the Golden Teen Search competition organized by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (1996), which led to a contract with Suria Records. Liza Hanim's debut studio album, Epilog (1997). Her second album, Dimana Kan Ku Cari Ganti (1998), included hits like "Dimana Kan Ku Cari Ganti" and "Istana Cinta," solidifying her stardom. Subsequent albums such as Puteri Jelmaan (1999) and Isyarat Jiwa (2001) further established her critical and commercial success, with the latter winning the 17th Anugerah Juara Lagu for Best Vocal Award.
