Paulo Sérgio Cunha dos Santos is a Brazilian clarinetist known for his work in jazz, Brazilian pop music, choro, and classical music. He studied at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro under José Botelho and Jayoleno dos Santos. From 1977 to 1995, Santos served as the principal clarinetist in the orchestra of the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theater. His breakthrough came with a commendation at the Acanthes Contemporary Music Competition in France in 1987. Throughout his career, Santos has collaborated with notable artists such as Turíbio Santos, Sivuca, and João Carlos Assis Brasil. He is also a member of the Quinteto Villa-Lobos, which focuses on contemporary Brazilian music, and O Trio, known for its choro tradition. His discography includes albums like Segura Ele (1994), Saudade Do Cordão (2009), and 3 Brasis (2014).
