Thomas Lehn is a German electronic musician and pianist born in 1958 in Fröndenberg. He studied classical and jazz piano at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and the Hochschule für Musik Köln, completing his studies in 1987. He developed a distinct musical language using analog synthesizers from the late 1960s, such as the Mini-Moog. During the 1980s, he performed with ensembles led by Gunter Hampel, George Russell and Keith Tippett. His recording history included the albums Zwei + Zwei sind drei (1995), Feldstärken (2000) and Navigation im Hypertext (2008). Lehn has collaborated with musicians including John Butcher, Matthew Shipp and Hannes Bauer. He is a member of several ensembles, including the trio Konk Pack and the free jazz quartet Soundbridges. His later recordings included the albums Tangle (2016), The Clawed Stone (2020) and Lights (2023).
