Zane Musa (born January 1, 1979) was an American jazz-funk saxophonist and vocalist born in Arleta, Los Angeles. He focused on the saxophone during junior high school and received a music degree from the California Institute of the Arts. Musa performed in the house bands of television programs including The Voice, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Carson Daly Show. He recorded the solo album Introducing Zane Musa (2005), and was credited as a primary artist (alto and tenor saxophone) on Holiday Sax Fantasy (1997). Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Roy Hargrove, Macy Gray, John Mayer, and Christina Aguilera. He performed at venues including the Playboy Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center, and the Blue Whale. Musa also toured and recorded with Sandoval, appearing on the track “Be Bop”. Following a performance on a jazz cruise, Musa died on February 2, 2015, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
