Allan Alfonzo "Al" Capps was an American music producer, arranger, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and singer. Born in Arkansas, he began his career in the 1960s and 1970s producing and arranging albums for prominent artists such as Andy Williams, Helen Reddy, Vikki Carr, and The Ventures. Capps also contributed his talents as a multi-instrumentalist and background vocalist on recordings by artists including The Everly Brothers, Gábor Szabó, Bobby Vinton, and Frank Sinatra. He also arranged and produced film scores for several movies. Later in his career, Capps composed music for commercials for brands such as Pepsi, Mercedes, Swatch, Cadillac, Budweiser, and Hilton. Capps remained active in the music industry until 2014 and passed away on June 7, 2018.
