Brian Maes, born on August 8, 1956 in Lynn, Massachusetts, is an American singer. He began his music studies at age eight, initially focusing on trumpet and later switching to baritone horn and keyboard. Maes graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1979, where he studied classical piano under Emanuel Zambelli. His career began with tours as a keyboardist and vocalist for the Boston-based pop-rock group American Teen. In 1982, Maes joined RCA recording artist Robert Ellis Orrall's band, touring in support of Special Pain. He later collaborated with Peter Wolf on his solo record Come As You Are, marking the start of their long-standing relationship. Maes released several albums, including Songs for Madeline (2004) and Collateral Damage (2011) with the Brian Maes Band. He has also been a member of various bands, notably Ernie and the Automatics and RTZ.
