Ronald Fields Jr., known professionally as Cougnut, was an American rapper born on January 11, 1968, in San Francisco. He was best known as the frontman for the rap group Ill Mannered Posse (I.M.P). In 1990, I.M.P released their debut album I.M.P. Dogs, followed by Back in the Days in 1993 and Ill Mannered Playas in 1996. Cougnut's distinctive dark raspy voice and street credibility made him a prominent figure in the Bay Area hip-hop scene from 1993 until his death. Notable collaborations include work with JT The Bigga Figga, Master P, Andre Nickatina, Da'unda'dogg, Sean T, and RBL Posse. On September 4, 2001, Fields was killed in a car accident in Northern California.
