Outi Tarkiainen, born on February 7, 1985 in Rovaniemi, Finland, is a composer known for her work in contemporary classical music and jazz. She studied composition at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the University of Miami, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Tarkiainen's career includes several notable albums such as Into the Woodland Silence (2013), Unpainted Portraits (2018) and The Earth, Spring’s Daughter / Saivo (2020). Her compositions span various genres including opera, orchestral works, song cycles, wind ensemble pieces, and chamber music. Other notable works include the opera "A Room of One's Own" (2021).
