Yukie Nishimura, born on May 8, 1967, in Toyonaka, Osaka, Japan, is a Japanese pianist and composer. She began playing the piano at age four with Yamaha, inspired by her mother. At eight, she began touring to Europe, the United States, Taiwan, and Thailand. Nishimura released her debut album Angelique in 1986. In 1991, she composed six pieces for the drama series 101 Proposals, including a piano solo of the theme song "Say Yes". That same year, she performed at the Bratislava Lyre Festival and was awarded the Slovakia Radio Special Award for most musical performance. Notable albums include Lyrisme (1987), L’espoir (1989), and Virgin (1995).
